Today I had a few people post some things on Facebook which were just totally ineffective, and it made me realize that some people still don't get the fundamentals of Attraction Marketing.
Here's the first question to ask yourself: if you saw your own blog, your own Facebook post, your own tweet, your own You Tube video, would you sign up with you?
NFL jerseys />People do business with people they know, like, and trust. I think that establishing trust first is critical. Aren't you more comfortable when you are speaking with someone you trust? even if they don't know everything, you dismiss that - it doesn't seem as important as the trust, does it?
But how do you establish thir trust in the first place? Well, the best way is to just be yourself. One of my mentors said, literally decades ago, that when you try to promote yourself in a way that is more that you are, when you try to fluff yourself up to be more, people can see through that, and will feel compelled to expose the 'real' you, as it were. On the other hand, when you reveal who you are, when you show up as 'just' you, with all your faults and the baggage of all your mistakes, people will actually rush in to protect you.
While people do want to work with a leader, my definition of a leader is probably a bit different than most: My definition is someone who has walked the walk, made the mistakes, and pressed on anyway. I was never born with the gift of gab, myself, I wasn't that 'cool' person in High School or College, that seemed to have everything figured out. So it made me nervous to open and honestly ask for help from some people in this business - I just figured I wasn't the right personality to make this business work.
Then I heard someone speak who shared that classic story of the insurance company trying to figure out how to improve performance. The story went something like this: All the managers believed there was no way to increase sales because the competition was too strong wholesale jerseys (or the economy was too weak - can't remember the reason, but it was just an excuse, all the same). And so this trainer was brought in to improve sales, and recommended that people simply go door to door, and when someone answered the door, their script was, quite simply, "You aren't looking or any insurance, are you?" You know the rest - one out of ten responded with, 'Well, actually we are looking at insurance" and sales went up significantly.
What that story did for me was boost my confidence - I realized that even though I was just getting started, and didn't have a huge network of contacts, didn't have the best people skills, that if I just got out there and offered my services to people, I'd have some success.
What I hope that story does for you is the same thing: I hope it fills you with confidence that who you are, and where you are right now is perfect for starting your business. Your story, even as it is right now, is a story people are going to connect with - especially cheap jerseys if it includes mistakes, flaws, and failures.
My first take on her email was that here was her college essay. When I suggested this to her, her immediate reply was that the story was so negative and, in a way, it was negative, but the story was so honest, and so authentic, as well as so revealing that I knew the essay would stand out. In the end, she used it for her essay and was accepted into an Ivy league school, early decision. Of course, she had all the other things needed to get in: great grades, great test scores, great athletics, etc., but being able to convey who she was, in a funny, very real story, was a big piece of cheap NFL NIKE jerseys. I also know that the person who read her application had fun reading it because it was a great story.
